Charlie Tryon
Chairman
Charlie is the Chief Executive Officer of Maris Group, a frontier market investment group, which he founded in 2009. Maris has 18 investments in 9 countries in Africa. He has worked in Africa since 2006 and now lives in Nairobi. Prior to Maris, Charlie worked in India and Afghanistan after leaving a career in investment banking in London in 2003. He is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh.

Peter Skov
Director
Peter is a Danish national who is the founder and a shareholder of both Equatoria Teak Company and Green Environ Teak Company. For the past 18 years, Peter has run his own investment business and consultancy in Uganda, where he is also the founder of Equatoria Forestry Company and Green Environ Forestry Company – both greenfield forestry operations with a landscape restoration project.

James Fandas
Director
James Fandas is a South Sudanese national and a seasoned expert in international treaties and conventions. He has served as a Human Rights Officer with UNMISS for over 21 years, contributing extensively to the United Nations’ work in South Sudan. James brings deep expertise in the administration of justice and law enforcement. He holds a Master’s degree in International Law from the Christian University of Uganda, and studied political science at the University of Juba in Sudan

Alexander Puxley
Director
Alex is based in Nairobi and has been working for Maris supporting its growth since 2013. He is a Chartered Accountant focused on horticulture, as CFO of Agris Group, and forestry as a Director of EFG.
